Robert Runté, Ph.D.
Dr. Runté took early retirement from the Faculty of Education at the University of Lethbridge to become a full-time editor. (Editing books is like having really good graduate students.) He taught courses in authentic assessment and test design. Before becoming a professor, he was a Test Development Specialist with the Student Evaluation Branch of Alberta Education, responsible for the Grade 3, 6 and 9 Social Studies Achievement Tests. This site was initiated by Dr. Runté in support of his Education 3604 course module on Student Assessment and to assist instructors everywhere in marking more efficiently and effectively, and to improve the quality of feedback students receive.

Tom Dunn was Examination Manager for the English 33 Diploma Examination with the Student Evaluation Branch of Alberta Education prior to his retirement. Barry Jonas (no photo available) was the Exam Manager of the Social Studies 30 Diploma Examination with the Student Evaluation Branch of Alberta Education prior to his retirement. Tom Dunn and Barry Jonas are co-authors of "Moving Students Beyond Satisfactory Writing", presented at the Summer Institute on Student Assessment in the Classroom, Calgary, Alberta, August 16, 1994, which constitutes much of the theoretical basis of this site.
